Dyed Plastic Bags

Have you ever had the ink/dye from a non-transparent plastic bag bleed onto your skin? Have you ever taken this as a moment to consider if your recently poor dietary habits have led you to have neon yellow veins? And then a couple moments later, you figured it out?

I can’t imagine the chemicals used to turn plastic bags into solid colors can’t be that great. Corporate branding might be able to come through in this way, so even though I’d rather the bag be clear to democratize and reveal purchase habits to all, I have a compromise for the problem: clear handles. The rest of the bag can be dyed whatever color the design department wants, but leave the handles ink-free.

This problem is part of what’s got me back to tumblr. Not a facebook status, not a tweet, not a blogpost, but a tumblr post.
